This page explains, in plain English, how iconkind handles your information. It's written as good practice, not as legal advice.
iconkind is a brand and shop for the iconkind characters, at iconkind.com. This policy covers the iconkind.com website.
This website is operated by Freetek Ltd (trading as IconKind), the data controller for your personal data.
Analytics. Like most websites, iconkind uses Google Analytics (GA4) to count visits and see which pages people read. This is aggregated usage data we use to improve the site, not to identify you personally.
Your account. If you create an account you give us an email address and a password, so you can sign in. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
Find your kind. If you take the Find your kind test we store your answers, the scores worked out from them and an anonymous visitor id so the session holds together — no name, no email address and no IP address. We use them to show you your result and, in aggregate, to improve the test and its scoring. Sessions are kept; the calibration-only items are deleted once calibration is done. Linking a result to an account is optional and not yet offered. A result page is public only by its address. The address you are given carries your session, so if you share it, anyone with the link can see your result as you see it — your kind, your code and your scores, including the science tab — but not who you are. Shorten it to the kind and the code (drop the part from ?s=) and it shows only that kind, that code and its ring — a code is not a secret and is not personal data.
We don't ask for more than we need, and we don't collect special-category (sensitive) personal data.
Essential cookies make the site work; these are always on.
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are set ONLY if you accept them — nothing analytics-related loads until you do. When you first visit we ask, with equal "Accept" and "Reject" buttons, and remember your choice; you can change it at any time with "Manage cookies" below.
If you use a share or "Pin" button, that social platform (such as Pinterest) may set its own cookies when you interact with it.
Manage cookiesWe rely on a few third parties, each with its own privacy policy: Google (Google Analytics); Pinterest and other social platforms, when you choose to interact with them (for example, pinning or sharing a page). We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
iconkind connects to our OWN business accounts on Pinterest and other social platforms through their official APIs, to create and manage our own Pins, boards and posts and to see our own analytics. We access only our own accounts.
We never ask for, collect or store any social platform user's password. Any access tokens for our own accounts are held securely and encrypted. We do not receive, store, share or sell any other person's data from those platforms.
iconkind's characters and products are made to be enjoyed at any age, but the site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR) you can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. Much of what we hold is your account data and anonymous analytics; email us and we'll help.
We keep account data only while your account is active. Analytics data is retained for as long as Google Analytics holds it. The site is served over HTTPS and we use reputable providers.
We'll update this page if our practices change; the date above shows the last revision.
